It's the question on every Fifty Shades of Grey readers' lips: Who will play emotionally damaged billionaire BDSM master Christian Grey in the film adaptation of EL James's mega-successful erotic novel?
Ryan Gosling emerged as a frontrunner this week when the author's husband Niall Leonard told Now Magazine that the Drive heartthrob was top choice for the role, the "last he heard".
But it's only a rumour, EL James herself insisted — with angry caps lock on.
"ALL CASTING NEWS [IS] NOT TRUE. ALL ARE JUST RUMOURS AT THE MOMENT. YES, SHOUTY CAPITALS. GRRR," she tweeted, before deleting the comment.
Earlier this week, porn star James Deen, who has been filming The Canyons with Lindsay Lohan (see pics), was rumoured for the role. Not so!
The film, to be made by Universal Pictures and Focus Features, hasn't even got a screenwriter or director yet, let alone a cast.
Meanwhile, the fans keep on picking their favourites for the lead roles of Christian and his squeeze Anastasia Steele.
"Yes Ryan Gosling (Mr Grey) yes Jennifer Lawrence (Ana), geez, definitely not Kristen Stewart," one wrote on the official Facebook page for the "mommy porn" trilogy.
"Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel should play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, they fit the character[s] perfectly," another posted.
"Ian Somerhalder. I think he's perfect, he has that tense angry side to him, but also light and sweet, and he also fits the dark haired grey eyed Christian Grey look :)!!!!" another fan wrote.
