WATCH: Alvin and the Chipmunks do Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance"

Monday, November 21, 2011

We can't say we were expecting this, um, musical collaboration, but we're strangely intrigued.

Yes, those animated rodents who famously brought us a helium-voiced rendition of Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" in their 2009 "squeakquel" have taken on another giant of the music industry: Lady Gaga.

Along with their Chipettes, Alvin (Justin Long), Simon (Matthew Gray Gubler) and Theodore (Jesse McCartney) shake their furry tushes and flex their high-pitched vocal chords to Gaga's "Bad Romance", as well as an equally ear-splitting version of Willow Smith's "Whip My Hair".

So do they do Gaga justice? Watch the trailer above for their new movie Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked and tell us what you think below.

Chipmunk fans, this movie's out January 1, 2012.
