More Twilight sequels after Breaking Dawn Part 2?

It might not be the end for Bella and Edward just yet, Twihards.

Even though November's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 is the final film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's lucrative teen vampire novels, the series is likely to continue either on the big or small screen, according to the new studio boss of Lions Gate Entertainment, the company that bought Twilight film studio Summit Entertainment last week.

Lions Gate CEO Jon Feltheimer predicts the fifth film will take more than $700 million at the global box office, bettering the $697 million earnings of Breaking Dawn Part 1. When asked about Twilight's future, he told the Los Angeles Times:

"It's hard for me to imagine a movie that does $700 million-plus doesn't have ongoing value. It's an amazing franchise that they have done a great job of maintaining with absolutely no deterioration. So the simple answer is 'Boy I hope so.'"

Okay, so it's just speculation at the moment, but we all know what happens when movie sequels rake in tonnes of money (think Fast and the Furious or Pirates of the Caribbean). And if it's not movies, it's Twilight on TV apparently.

According to a person involved in the Summit acquisition deal, Lions Gate may adapt Twilight into a TV series, as Lions Gate has a television production unit (while Summit doesn't).

Feltheimer responded to the TV question with: "I would certainly hope so".

What's your verdict on this news? Do we need more Twilight or has it reached its use-by date? Tell us what you think below.
