In Sydney to attend the Australian premiere of Skyfall, star Daniel Craig sat down with TheFIX and told us exactly what it takes to become James Bond. As you'd imagine, those abs don't spring out of nowhere.
"It's an incredibly physical role," Daniel explained. "I don't walk through rooms I run through rooms."
With that in mind, he and co-star Naomie Harris had a rigorous training regime.
"I had a great trainer," Daniel said. "He showed at me a lot and I shout back!"
That regime also meant sacrificing cheeseburgers and beer but Daniel said he felt like it was a worthy trade-off. "Being ripped? Oh yeahI hate it!" he joked.
Joining Daniel in Sydney is Naomie Harris, who plays a fellow MI6 agent, and that meant a lot of physical training for the British actress.
"I had a personal trainer who would take me out five days a week for two months," she recalled. "And that was before we even started!"
Fifty years on from Dr No, Bond has a few new tricks up his sleeve (and in his Aston Martin). He's braced for his biggest challenge yet but he still has time for a luscious lady or two and a dry martini.
This time, the seductive French-born Bérénice Marlohe embodies the ultimate "Bond girl". But unlike her co-stars, she didn't have to endure a gruelling fitness schedule.
"I am really into food," Bérénice admitted. "They created my dress months before [the filming], so I would just force myself to run to train just for myself!"
