Chris Hemsworth wants role in new Star Wars films
Chris Hemsworth is currently filming Thor 2: The Dark World, but he's already dreaming of a Star Wars gig.
Star Wars Episodes VII, VIII and IX are on the way and super-stud Chris Hemsworth wants in on the sci-fi action.

The Aussie heart-throb declared his love for George Lucas' famed trilogy.

"Oh man, I love those films," Chris told MTV News. "That's the sort of bread and butter of my film experience as a kid. I would love to work on something like that."

Chris’s inner-geek isn’t surprising, given his role as intergalactic superhero Thor in Marvel Comics’ Thor, The Avengers and the upcoming Thor 2: The Dark World

It turns out that the 29-year-old, who is currently filming the Thor sequel, also has a soft spot for another classic fantasy trilogy.

"I also loved Lord of the Rings. I would have loved to have done something in that world,” he said.

Little Miss Sunshine writer Michael Arndt is signed on to write Episode VII, while Lawrence Kasdan, who was involved in penning the original trilogy, is rumoured to be returning for the final two parts.

Will Chris get his wish? With Episode VII not due until 2015, there's still plenty of time for a casting announcement. Plus, Peter Jackson may be able to squeeze a Chris cameo into The Hobbit sequels …
