Kristen Stewart’s mum was 'proud' of her topless scene

Kristen Stewart was squirming in her seat when her mum watched her get nude in On The Road, saying that watching the film together in Cannes was an "Interesting" experience.

But it turns out her onscreen boobs were no biggie. "She loved it," Kristen told Collider. "She was really proud."

In the film, Kristen plays Marylou - a young girl embarking on a road trip with her boyfriend Dean (Garrett Hedlund) and writer Sal (Sam Riley).

Kristen says that her character as a young prostitute in Welcome to the Rileys affected her parents more.

"That character really found its way under my skin," she explained.

"I was so overly sensitive about not just anything overtly sexual, but anything about a young girl. It rocked me, and I think my parents could probably feel that, as well."

On the Road has finished its theatrical run, but you can check out Kristen as Bella Swan in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, showing now in Australian cinemas.
