Watch: Hugh Grant tries cannibalism, Halle Berry turns old Asian man in Cloud Atlas

One of the six various roles portrayed by Hugh Grant in the upcoming drama epic Cloud Atlas, is that of a cannibal chief — Quite a move from his more reserved roles in romantic dramas and comedies, such as Notting Hill and Love Actually.

"There was very little throat-slitting in Sense and Sensibility. I remember I always felt there should have been more," Hugh jokes in the exclusive behind-the-scenes video above.

Hugh also plays the parts of a priest with terrible teeth, an old man and an Asian character named Seer Rhee.

Halle Berry, Tom Hanks and Hugo Weaving join him in playing multiple characters across the time-travelling narratives. Wait till you see Halle as an old Asian man!

For a film that is meant to be about the "unity of humanity", it came as a surprise that China cut out almost a third of the film for its premiere in Beijing last Monday.

"We were unaware that our Chinese partners, Dreams of Dragon Pictures, had cut almost 30 minutes from the film," producers Grant Hill and Philip Lee told TheWrap website last week.

"We did know that, as with other countries, there were likely to be censorship trims and we trusted them to protect the integrity of the filmmaker's creativity and vision."

However, the cut scenes were reportedly both gay and straight love scenes — they’re missing out!

Cloud Atlas hits Australian cinemas on February 28. Until then you can check out Hugh Grant as a cannibal and Halle Berry as a sexy Jewish woman and an Asian old man in the special behind-the-scenes footage above.
