I though that the film was very close to the book apart from a few minor details. The only thing I didn't understad was why they had to change the origin of the Mockingjay pin. Did anyone else pick up on that fact?? I think by changing it's background the significance of it as a symbol of rebellion against the Capitol is lost and so was its depth. Other than that I was quite pleased with it. I thought the actors were quite convincing and easy to connect with in the story. The violence was done very well, it wasn't too gruesome or over the top which is what I feared it would be. I didn't miss the lack of special effects because to me it made the movie so much more real and not as distant. I also liked the fact that they decided to concentrate more on the gamemakers and what was happening behind the scenes of the games. I could go on for ages about what I liked and didn't like about it but that would bore people, I've already bored my friends on the subject!!
